Our Father God is in Heaven. Heaven is His throne. Although God is in Heaven His presence is also here with us on earth. He sees, hears and knows everything and He cares for you and about everything that concern you.
The scriptures says:
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13 NIV)
"The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15:3 KJV)".
And:
"Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; (Psalms 33:18 KJV)"
And again:
"The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. (Psalms 34:15-19 KJV).
Heaven may seem a very far place and to us and indeed it is but because God is God and Sovereign, earth is not far from Him and He is with us here too. Nothing is hidden from Him.
He also makes His presence known in so many ways, sometimes visible. Sometimes we feel His presence.
Look at what the psalmist says:
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. (Psalm 139:7-10 NIV).
What a comfort it is to know that our Father God who is in Heaven, is Sovereign, All Powerful, All Knowing, Almighty, Ever Present, is also right here with us and when we call on Him, we know He hears us and answers our prayers. Nothing is hidden from Him or is too difficult for Him to solve and best of all, He loves us.
Meditate on the scriptures above.
So when we pray 'Our Father who art in Heaven', let us come to Him with this understanding.
Remain blessed
