The Lord's Prayer, by Aije Barnes. Oct 4 Issue 3 Vol 3

When Jesus' disciples asked him to teach them how to prayer in Luke chapter 11, he taught them what is now known as The Lord's Prayer.

Here is an extract below:

'And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. (Luke 11:2-4 KJV)'

I love the way Matthew completed his account of the Lord's Prayer in the following verse:

'And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:13 KJV)'

It is quite amazing how Jesus taught us how to pray. This prayer is full of so much revelation on what our communication with God the Father should consist of.

For the next few weeks when I bring you God's word, I share with you what The Lord has placed in my heart concerning the prayer Jesus taught us.

I have felt impressed in my spirit to pray the Lord's Prayer as often as possible when I pray. There is a good reason for this which I will share with you verse by verse in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, I would like to encourage you to do the same and as you do, I pray that the Lord will open the eyes of your understanding to grasp the amazing truths and revelations in this prayer.

Eternal blessings
