What is your problem? July 7th 2012 By Minister Aije Barnes

Luke 18 vs 35 – 43
In the scripture above, there was a blind man who when he heard that jesu was passingby, called out to him. Jesu stpped and aske for the man to be brough to him. Jesu then asked him “What do you want me to do for you?” or in other words, “What is your problem?” Do you think Jesus did not know what he wanted and why he called out to him in the first pleace? Of course he did. He could see that the man was blind and wanted to see but Jesus wanted the man to ask Him. So the man did. He said “ Lord I want to see” Jesus then said to him “ receive your sight, your faith has healed you”

The same applies to us!

We all experience various levels and types of trials and tribulations in our lives. Some of it may be due to work related stress, family issues, finances, relationship problems, the lists can go on and on…
All of this happens to us whether or not you are a Christian. The difference with a Christian is that we are never alone in these places of unease. The Lord said in his word, “And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age” Matt 28 vs 20 . He also also invites us to come to him with our heavy burdens and promises us rest in its place. In Matt 11 vs 28 – 30 he says” Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humbke in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”

This speaks very clearly to me that God does not want you to suffer with your problems. He wants you to hand them over to him. He wants to give you rest. You see, you don’t have to own your problems anymore. There is a place where you can find rest from them. What does Jesus mean when He says “take my yoke upon you and learn from me”? He means, He wants you to walk with Him – closely, and step by step. Imagine two oxens yoken togther – they walk in unison. They walk in the same direction. The monent one of them decides not the follow in the same direction, it becames an uncomfortablesituationand the one straining away lives in pain.
Jesus has already promised you that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. So in walking with Him you will find easy and find the rest He promised.
He did not promise you that you will not go through fire or waters or hard times but listen to what he promised in Isaiah 43 vs 1-2”..Do not fear for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze” This is such an assurance that there is really nothing to fear when you walk with God. You will always come out victorious – more than a conqueror because you walk to a different set of rulesthat is not subject to the laws of nature but rather to the command of its Creator whose dearly beloved you are.
One of the reason why we sometimes continue to suffer with problems is because we do not ask God for help. We sometimes just complain or tell other people who cannot help us  or just just remain in it without seeking for help. Jesus said ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be open unto you. We must take action to step out of the problems as a demonstration of your belief.
The Lord said call upon me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you. Psalms 50 vs 15. So please make that call today.
Finally dearly beloved sisters I shal  leave you with these additional words of encouragement from Hebrews 4 vs 16 “Let us then approach God´s throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need”
