Remaining in Jehovah’s love Part 1 August 2 Issue 2 Vol 2 by Minister Prudence Conteh

I want to thank God for dropping this topic in my heart. A lot was discussed at the handing over of the group’s London leadership to our UK Coordinator and Assistant Group Pioneer Minister Aije Barnes from the Women Power Hour International Group Pioneer, Regina Moore.

It was a time of reflection and moment of encouragement to one another. Personally, it became a thoughts provoking moment which has left me with a wonderful experience and daily deep thoughts of my relationship with God and how I can help others benefit from it. Questioning myself about how I can make God really become my father? Because that is the relationship he really wants with us.

The topic remaining in God’s love came through my mind. Since that time I have got three confirmations from a friend of mine with whom we meet once a week to look into the scriptures also in church. It then occurred to me that the issues of remaining in God’s Love needs to be addressed early enough when people give their life to Jehovah. Fellow Christians get overwhelm with winning a soul but not how to support those souls maintain their new found love for God so that individually, they can remain in the fold. Jesus used “The parable of the sower” in Matthew 13: 1-23 to demonstrate the difficulties that such people can encounter in their journey with God.  God has taken control of the restoration plan. Our struggles remain not with flesh and blood meaning (humans) but with our adversaries; Ephesians 6 Vs 12. We cannot see our enemies with our physical eyes.  That is why things of God have to be viewed spiritually not physically …even so the things of God no man knows, but the Spirit of God” (1Cor.2:11).

Can you see the necessity of having the Spirit of God within them, so they can have life and began to understand the things of the Spirit? We therefore find a lot of causalities at the very point where newly born again Christians fall by the wayside and their fire for God that they experienced when they gave  their life to Jesus Christ have the tendency to go cold or even be extinguished.

Let us be honest, Jesus the Son of God did not leave us ignorant about the endless effort of what the devil throws at us on a daily basis. 1 Peter 5:8.  Christians can quote scriptures to fit all circumstances; but then it is occurring to me that, as we are surrounded with educated illiterates in the circular world; it can be the same for our world too as Christians. Meaning that there may be a time when what we have learnt need to work for us and we should also be able to support others around us. We are encouraged in 2 Timothy 2:5 to study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

A typical work example is in the area of mandatory training of which I will choose moving and handling at work.  Staff are sent for training on moving and handling; then a refresher, as it has been established that after a year, these training skills that have been acquired, fade away and staff start to lose focus and tend to deviate from good practice into bad habits. Therefore the need arises to reinforce the knowledge for those who have put what they have learnt immediately into practice and at the same time remind staff of what is expected of them. Also, the  development of new laws and  new techniques are introduce while others are found to be not as helpful as it was once thought to be. Applying the above to our Christian life, we sometime fall into one category or the other. One for reinforcement in being consistent in practicing what we have learnt, the other as a reminder of what God expected of us, to maintain that closeness  to him, and that no one can make it by their own effort but through him. Continuously we need to examine the word of God as with it, we can establish whether our walk with God is lacking; then we can talk to God through prayers to help us amend our ways.

Remaining in Jehovah’s Love means so much to Him. God wants you to be close to Him as He is your Father.  Remaining in God’s love continuously proves Satan to be a liar and this pleases God most. Telling others about God’s love makes it even better. Helping and supporting others to remain in God’s love is the  best thing that can ever happen to you as seeing the people you have supported to stay in Jehovah’s love pleases God to make all provision for you on earth and in heaven.

I pray that you take accurate knowledge  of God’s word  and Jesus Christ by continuously looking and making sure for yourself what God’s plan is for your life, putting it into practice, and constantly getting refreshed.  Do not neglect to fellowship or meet together (Hebrews 10: 25-35) to exalt and encourage one another. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says if you think you are standing firm, be careful not to fall. Decide what you will do with the  seed (the word of God) you receive. Would you let it fall by the wayside or on fertile ground?   As the Bible puts it, we are running a race - see Ecclesiastes 9:11, Joshua 23:11 and 1 Corinthians 10:5. The London Olympics have proved a good comparison. We can learn from the examples of man, but we should follow God not man. Job 32:7-8.

Next time in Part 2, I will share with you some more insights of Jehovah's love for mankind and why we must share this love.

Remain in His Love always

  2. This is so refreshing. Indeed we cannot afford to deviate from the fundamental value of God's love. I read Hebrews 10:25-35 from the amplified bible and it arouse deep thoughts in me. Thank you for sharing this deep truth with us. I look forward to Part 2 with much delight. Shalom. Sister Aramide.
