something, to go
somewhere with your life. Not allowing anything that is happening around you to distract you from facing that thing until you get the
desired result.

How to Effectively focus

First you must Know what you want to focus on. There
are various things calling for your attention they can be seemingly important
but you have to make up your mind what you want to focus on. Secondly face one thing at a time. You can have many
goals all around your life you have to choose one at a time to focus on so you
can get desired results. Thirdly be determined, without a determined heart you
can’t make much progress. Next watch out for distractions they are all around you you must be
sensitive to so called distractions put everything in their rightful place in
your schedule so you can focus one at a time without being distracted on every
side.

You must understand that focus is an activity not

do it inculcate
the activity not a passive word it is an active word it is a doing word a
verb. So you have to take action to focus
do what it takes to focus. You must be able to measure your result per time so you can know how far
you have gone what progress you have made and what next you should do.

The other important thing that will help you to focus
is to MIND YOUR BUSINESS. Know what you want for your
self, Forget about other
peoples achievements, Stop looking around
peoples lives, our destinations
differ in life, face what you should be facing follow your planned route and set your face
like a flint and focus.

Forming a good habit to succeed in a new year begins
with setting up your goals. It is not a tradition, or doing what everyone is
trying to do its a way of keeping your self on track to achieving your desires.

Some of the reasons why we set goals are to have a clarity in decision making,
to have direction, to help you have good time management, help you focus, goals
give you control of your life’s journey, they are confidence boosters, goals
give you a reason to connect with the right people to support you to where you
want to go. Goals motivate you with confidence and connection to help you
achieve your desires. Goals also gives you persistence and helps you to reflect
and evaluate your achievements.

There are many types of goals you can set but
the first thing in mind is for them to be SMART GOALS. That is they must be SPECIFIC,
MEASURABLE, ACHIEVEABLE, REALISTIC AND TIME BOUND. With these in mind they

Topic – The Samaritan Woman - Can this be the Christ?

Scripture: JOHN 4:29 AMP

““Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done! Can this be the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed)?””

We recall from yesterday’s devotional that Jesus clearly told the woman that he is Christ the Messiah.

So the answers my two questions yesterday, which were, ‘after all this, what was her response to Jesus? And, Did she actually believe for herself? Are shown below:

Answer number one
As soon as Jesus told the woman that he was Christ the Messiah, she responded by putting down her empty jar and went straight back to her people to announce her encounter.

Answer number two
This can be found in her question shown in the opening verse above. Sadly, this is not the question asked by somebody who truly believes with personal conviction, even though you can hear the excitement in her voice including during her proclamation to her people.

Her proclamations were so powerful and impactful, that as recorded in verses 39 and 42, many Samaritans believed in Jesus because of what she told them and some others, also because of their own personal encounter with Him.

Verse 41 is also so powerful: “Many more believed in Him [with a deep, abiding trust] because of His word [His personal message to them];” JOHN 4:41 AMP

Dear sisters, to be honest, I don’t know whether this woman later believed for herself but the question is, will you?

You see, being a true believer is not a group effort. It is a personal commitment to Jesus. You can still be impactful for God without having this personal relationship with him but the only person who will know this, is you and Jesus, to whom you will give account to one day.

God knows the real you. Let His Word impact, change and transform you for your good and His glory. If you let Him, God’s truth will set you free and He will fill you with His living water 💦 that never runs dry.

*Prayer*

Dear Lord Jesus, l believe in you. Please help my unbelief. Amen
Topic – The Samaritan Woman - Sir, give me this water 💦....

Scripture: JOHN 4:15 AMP

“The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not get thirsty nor [have to continually] come all the way here to draw.”

Finally, this woman showed signs of wanting what Jesus was offering her. However, this was just the beginning. Jesus asked her for more of her commitment by asking her to call her husband and come back.

Not being a Jewish / Samaritan lady, I can’t tell you the cultural significance of this. However, being a married woman, I can see that God recognises the union with your husband through marriage. He sees you both as one and desires to bless you as one body.

Going deeper, the woman revealed to Jesus the truth that she didn’t have a husband. Jesus in turn, revealed to her more of her own truth. This surprised her further and she finally asked him directly whether he was Christ the Messiah they had all been waiting for. Jesus confirm he was (see John 4:26).

But after all this, what was her response to Jesus? Did she actually believe for herself? We shall find out the answer to these questions, in our last devotional on this topic tomorrow.

From this woman’s story so far, we can see that wanting more of God in our lives requires more than just a desire. It requires truth. God wants us to be truthful Him because he wants to heal all our brokenness. The woman could not be whole if her husband was part of that brokenness. In any case, despite the fact that she didn’t have a husband (having already had five and the man she was living with was not her husband), Jesus still wanted to make her whole. This tells us that there’s nothing too complex in our lives for Jesus to heal.

Jesus is still wanting to make us whole. Are we willing to go beyond just wanting this wholeness? This requires us being truthful to him and allowing him to reveal to us our truth. If you seek him with all your heart, you will find him and receive the healing and fulfilment you seek.

*Prayer*

Dear Lord Jesus, you said in your word that the time has come and now is, that true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit (from the heart, the inner self) and in truth. You are the Truth. Help me to be a true worshipper. Amen
Topic – The Samaritan Woman -

Scripture: JOHN 4:14 AMP

“But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”

So, yesterday I reminded you that in response to Jesus’ request to the Samaritan woman to give him a drink, she immediately became argumentative. Also, that she became even more argumentative after Jesus told her how her ignorance and prejudice was preventing her from obtaining her soul’s deepest need - eternal life.

So what were her responses? First, wondering how Jesus was going to give her living waters, she presented Jesus with her natural understanding of how the problem could be solved and asked him how he was going to address what she saw as a problem. Secondly, she had the audacity to ask Jesus (the One through whom everything created was created- see John 1: 2-3) whether he was greater than her ancestor Jacob, who not only gave her the well, but himself also drank from that well together with his sons and cattle.

Jesus’ response is shown in the opening verse above.

Dear sisters, like this woman, how many times do we think we know best, when it comes to finding solutions to our problems? We at times, as Jesus pointed out, might find temporary relief to our problems by using our own natural resources. However, a permanent solution that will not only satisfy us continually, but also provide refreshing for others, is given by Him alone.

Which one do you prefer?

*Prayer*

Dear Lord Jesus, of a truth, no one knows and can fulfil my deepest needs except You Lord, who created me. Please help me to always accept this truth and stop trying to fix things myself, based on my own understanding. Amen
Topic – The Samaritan Woman - if you know about.. and who...

Scripture: JOHN 4:10 AMP

“Jesus answered her, “If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).”

So, yesterday I told you that in response to Jesus’ request to give him a drink, this woman immediately became argumentative. 😨😨. She didn’t even consider her past or present status, but rather, seeing that Jesus was a Jew and knowing how the Jews and Samaritans didn’t get on, she was basically asking Jesus in our modern time term: ‘why are you talking to me?’

She immediately put up a barrier. Jesus’ response to her, is shown in the opening verse above.

The woman clearly didn’t know about God’s gift and who it was that was presenting her with this gift. If she did, she would have responded differently.

What she had been looking for all her life, was, right there, being made available to her, by the only one (God), who could give it to her.

Did she jump at this opportunity? Sadly, not! 😨😨. She argued some more 😱😱!!!. Pause. I will talk about this, in tomorrow’s devotional.

Dear sisters, when Jesus walked on earth during those days, not many people knew that he was God. This was first revealed to us when the Angel Gabriel announced his birth. Angel Gabriel said ‘His name shall be called Emmanuel, meaning ‘ God with us’. Jesus is also revealed to us in the scriptures as God the Son or the Son of God. God was in Jesus reconciling the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19)

This same Jesus, lives in everyone who is born again (has believed in him and received him as their Lord and Savior). Such a person can come from any nation, tribe or tongue and can be any age or gender.

Dear sisters you don’t know who God will use to bring you the answers to your prayers. It could be through the very person/ people who, because of your negative preconceived ideas or pride, you decided is/ are not in your ‘league’ or ‘class’. If you are prejudice, you could miss your opportunity or even destiny.

Being prejudiced, is a form of pride. It can express itself in so many ways. Pride is a sin. Please get rid of it and or avoid it.

*Prayer*

Dear Lord Jesus, please help me to set aside any form of pride that expresses itself as prejudice and, in its place, help me to replace it with humility, so that I don’t miss you in whatever way you come to me. Amen
Topic – The Samaritan Woman - Give me a drink

Scripture: JOHN 4:7 AMP
“Then a woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink”—”

Here, we have a woman who had an encounter with Jesus at an ancestral well (the well of Jacob).

Now this lady had an unpleasant life story. We know that she had had five (5) husbands and the man she was currently living with, was not her husband. All different kinds of speculations can come to mind as to why she was in the situation she found herself in. We are are not here to judge her. What we do know, is that this woman was in need of something that would truly change her life and satisfy her longing, probably for stability.

Little did she know that the very person who could effect that change (her Creator), in the person of Jesus, was right in front of her, asking for a drink of water.

What I believe Jesus was asking of her, was for her to interact with him, who had the power to change her life.

This woman immediately became argumentative. 😨😨I shall pause here. We shall continue on this point in tomorrow’s devotional.

Dear sisters no matter where you are in your life’s journey, Jesus is always trying to engage with you. He doesn’t look at your checkered pass and disqualify you because of it. He wants to fill that longing for peace, health, provision, protection, abundant life and a closer relationship with Him that you are really seeking to fill. Unfortunately, we sometimes try to fill these heartfelt longings with things that cannot satisfy us.

Give Jesus a drink by drawing deep and pouring out your life before Him. Only He, who created you, knows how to fix you. Let Him.

*Prayer*

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for reaching out to me in my state of brokenness. Help me not to hold back, but to give to you what you ask of me. Amen

Scripture
Hebrews 11

*Key Scriptures*
Hebrews 11:2, 10, 35 (KJV) For by it the elders obtained a good report.
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

People of Faith have an insight that view things above the natural. They have a perfect view of heaven and know heaven is more real and valuable than this temporary earth. They live all their lives glorifying God, knowing He is their all in all. They have the below characteristics:-

- They are great givers. People with a perfect faith and view of heaven give easily and sacrificially. See Abel and Abraham sacrifice of Issac.

- Their priorities are heavenly focused and more in love with heaven than earth.

- They are confident, bold, full of patience and endurance, joy and peace, great lovers and forgivers.

- They live their lives always glorifying God, zealous in their stand for God, never afraid or ashamed.

They never let anything hamper the glory of God. Heb11:35b talks of men who refused deliverance in order to obtain a better praise of God.

All the lives of the Hero and Heroine in the Bible attest to the above characteristics.

Sister check your life, how giving, loving, forgiving, confident and bold, patience, enduring, peaceful and joyful are you? Are you more wordly than heavenly?
Endeavour to have all of the outlined virtues in full measure. Faith is a walk.
The hero and heroine in the bible didn't start with strong Faith but got perfected as their walk with God grew deeper.
Sister let's prioritize our relationship with God. Our Faith in God will grow as our knowledge of Him increases which will make all things added to us.

*Prayer*
Lord, give me the perspective that view all things from the heavenly stand point. In Jesus name. Amen.
Hebrews 11:11 (KJV)
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Heb 11:11 says Sarah received strength to conceive by Faith. Her Faith before then was weak eventhough she knew from Abraham, God has promised them a child. What produced the strength in her? Gen 18:9-15 narrates the Lord's visit announcing the conception of Issac a year before and rebuking her unbelief.
I'm sure, she seeing the Lord, hearing the promise and the words He spoke, seeing the mighty destruction He did at Sodom and Gomorrah afterwards kept her thinking and overcame her doubts. she realised God can do beyond her understanding which made her have confidence, boldness and assurance.

These take us to certain principles we have heard and worth understanding about Faith
- Faith is a personal experience. Sarah enjoyed Abraham's Faith to an extent but needed her own to conceive.
- Nobody can have a personal encounter with the Lord without increasing faith. Sarah's personal encounter produced her strength and increase faith
- Faith produces strength and power to accomplish things.
- Faith developes with Time and it takes Process for human miracles to conceive. Sarah develped her faith overtime and took 1yr to produce Issac.

Sister do you lack strength and power to see your heart desires come to pass?
Go for a personal encounter with the Lord through reading his word, prayers and meditation.
You will receive revelations and power greater than the human senses that will push you into actions to produce results beyond imaginations. This may take Time and Process but it will surely come forth.
One thing is sure God's word stands sure. Your level of faith determines your level of reaping which depends on how much you know and understands God / his word.
Sisters true faith produces.

*Prayer*
Lord, I pray you remove from me any scale, weight or power hindering my personal relationship with you. In Jesus name. Amen.
Women’s Power Hour
Kick off Your Day

*Devotional for Women*

Topic – Faith Day 3 - Faith is determined by knowledge.

Scripture
Hebrews 11:1-2, 6 (KJV)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What can please the Almighty and Most High God? Heb 1:6a says our Faith pleases Him.

This God Faith in Heb 11:6a makes everything possible and involves a strong revelation of God's nature that above haman instinct / senses. God is impressed by the dependence, obedience, and daringness to Trust him.

Heb 11:6b describes this Faith:- A believe that God Is, and A Rewarder of those that diligently seek him.

There's an instinct believe / revelation in the human heart that God is. An acknowledgment of which makes one see God clearer that creates Faith. It also creates an Awe and Fear that makes one fearful of God's presence as one become aware of His holiness in relation to his sins and uncleanness.
The knowledge that God is the Rewarder of those who diligently seek him creates confidence and boldness that let's one draw to God despite his holiness and worship Him not only out of fear but also out of joy.

The combination of these two scenarios creates a relationship of strong faith where God is seen as all in all, approachable and relational.

Sister, what is your view of God? Do you see him as He is:- real, all powerful, wise, knowing and unlimited?

Do you see him as a God that diligently rewards all who calls on him - relational?

It is easy to say yes. But let's take some life circumstances. God says in John 14 :1 "Let not your heart be troubled.."

Mathew 6:33 "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God..."

Sister is your heart troubled about things?

Please take time to meditate on God and improve your faith. Heb 11:6 implies your Faith is as strong as your believe / knowledge of God and verse 2 tells us the legends in the bible lived remarkable lives by faith.

Let endeavour to know more of God through his word to increase our Faith

*Prayer*
Lord, give us open eyes, minds with eagerness to know your word deeply. In Jesus Name
Topic – Faith Day 2 - Faith requires humility and pursuant.

Scripture
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebs 11:6b talks of a firm conviction that God is and that He is a rewarder of all who diligently seek Him. This firm belief comes from a deep revelation of who God is.

Being around christian circles and merely witnessing miracles without personal revelation of God only produces awe. Faith involves a deep conviction that resonates in the heart. It is a revelation that makes you see God bigger than all things, your heart's yearnings and issues of life. This revelation produces a relationship of trust and hope.

See the respond of the Jews to Jesus' earthly ministry:-
John 12:37 (KJV) But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him.

What would make people not respond to great words and miracles like the raising of Lazarus from the death?
Further reading can reveal it was the hardening of their heart, minds, ears and eyes. Why would the hardening take place? Because they didn't take time to think, be humble, meditate and pursue the miracles and words of Jesus. The parable of the sower Jesus spoke in Mt 13 explains this. Satan uses our minds, difficulties and pleasures to kill and make God's word unfruitful in our lives.

Jesus says all who come to me I will never cast out -Jh6:37b

How do we respond then to God's word and get perfect faith? :-
By being humble, quick to hear, enquiring his word and purpose, making fast and prompt respond to his calling, Word and Spirit. See the story of Nicodemus in John 3.

Sister is your Faith commensurate to the light / miracles you have seen? Do you firmly believe God is and a rewarder to them that diligently seek him?
Our minds left to their natural thinking counteract God's ways coupled with Satan constantly throwing thoughts our ways explaining why God's words and ways won't work.
We can get strong conviction and Faith by seeking God personally, he will give us revelations that increase our Faith.

*Prayer*
Lord, give us humble hearts and minds that would always seek your will.

*Bible Study Plans*
Leviticus 6 Exodus 25 Acts 6

Recipients of strong faith are humble, great seekers, obeidence, and persistent.
Topic – Faith Provides a superior Insight / wisdom

Scripture
Hebrews 11:1-3 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Heb 11:1 declares Faith as the evidence of the unseen things we possess. Verse 3 tells us Faith sees the unseen behind the physical, that is Faith gives a fuller view and tells more about the physical. This is insight from above, a wisdom beyond the physical.

It remains me of my childhood and I'm sure most people can relate with. There were circumstances and people I would see perfect and okay that my mother would think contrary and warn me from association. I would struggle to figure why until time proves her right. Now I know she had the insight form maturity and experience.

But there are matured people who aren't that foresighted to spot evil from the onset.
So it the same with faith. They're Christians lacking the insight of Heb 11:3 and can't see the unseen behind the physical. Why? They haven't added to their faith knowledge.
Rms 10:17 says Faith comes by hearing God's word.
2Pt 1:3 says God through his power has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness *through* the knowledge of Him.

The more we hear and know God the more our faith is solidified.
Sisters if we are to *be full* of Faith and Power and lack nothing, we must be committed to knowing the Lord through his Word, Prayers and Meditation. Set time for your growth in the Faith and Lord.

*Prayer*
Lord, baptize us with fresh zeal and knowledge that make our Faith effective.

Fasting is one of the challenging exercises to do as a woman of God. God has a way of pushing us into a fast by allowing life’s circumstances to demand a fast. We should not wait for circumstances or church declaration of a fast we can get ourselves positioned with spiritual ammunition to always put the enemy where he belongs.

As fasting empowers us to develop inner power and capacity to take our stand in the spirit realm and be victorious.

Gaining anything in life comes with a price no pain no gain. The issue here is to find "the something " inside you. If you care to know that's your link to your lane of greatness. There is no other place your can flourish except in that "something ".

Clue no two is to watch what you are passionate about something you can do even without pay. You can be woken out of sleep to do it and you will not complain. You are wired for it its in your DNA you think it, talk it, dream it, you breath it that the level of passion am referring to.

Your next clue can be something negative you have gone thru and you don't want any one to go through it again so you make it your cause.

Another clue can be something the world is struggling to get an answer about and you easily know what to do to help mankind.

It can also be something in society that annoys you and you want to do something about it.

There are many clues these are just few. If you can identify with any you can link up purpose.

Life with out purpose is fish out of water, surviving in the desert,

June 4, Issue 1, Vol 6Here is the final letter from Jesus found in the book of Revelations, written to the seventh church in Asia in a place called Laodicea.

“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”” Revelation 3:14-22 NIV

Okay, I put my hands up! The last few ministrations I shared on the letters from Jesus, were pretty lengthy and I hope you were faithful to preserve and read them to the end. This one is not going to be as long!

Well done too, if you have faithfully read all the other six letters! If you haven't, you will do well to do so. They are from Jesus to you!

The message of this last letter is: there is no room for mediocracy. It is Jesus' way or no way. Remember, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father but by him.

The sad situation of this church was, they had assumed a position in their lives where they thought they were okay just the way they were, when in actual fact, they were wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

Jesus' introduction of himself at the beginning of this letter, gives us an insight into how this church got into this unacceptable state.

Jesus said he is the Amen (so shall it be), the faithful and true witness and the ruler of God's creation. Therefore, as Jesus is the Word of God and the mirror which reflects the standard required of the children of God, we can clearly see that this church no longer accepted Jesus as the Amen standard of their lives. They chose their own way. They ignored the faithful and true witness and had their own ideas for how they felt they should follow him. They became the rulers of their own lives, refusing to submit to his Lordship. They practically shut the door on him! The scary thing is, they don't even know that they are doing all this!

Let us examine our lives in the truth of God's word. Are we hot, cold or lukewarm?

What do you want most of all? Your way or his? Do you think you are okay as you are? Or do you hunger and thirst after righteousness?

This is a message of two doors - the first one that Jesus has opened and is beckoning us to walk through; and the second one we have shut, on which he is knocking, so that if we let him in, he can show and help us how to live in the right way that will honour God. We hold the handle of the second door - through our choices or decision to either hear his voice and open the door or ignore him.

The decision is yours. The Faithful Church

“And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open: [Isa. 22:22.] I know your [record of] works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name. Take note! I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not, but lie–behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and learn and acknowledge that I have loved you. [Isa. 43:4; 49:23; 60:14.] Because you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance [have held fast the lesson of My patience with the expectant endurance that I give you], I also will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial (testing) which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth. I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one may rob you and deprive you of your crown. He who overcomes (is victorious), I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God; he shall never be put out of it or go out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which descends from My God out of heaven, and My own new name. [Isa. 62:2; Ezek. 48:35.] He who can hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches).” Revelation 3:7-13 AMP

What a promise to those Christians who hold fast to God's word!

The secret to a victorious walk with God is to guard and keep God's word of patient endurance. This is a powerful word and carries a lot of weight. For me it reads that your endurance needs to be patient. That is, in your suffering or troubles, be patient. Don't give up.

This letter of Jesus to the church in Philadelphia is as relevant to us now as it was to them then.

You will note how Jesus introduced himself to this church. He said he the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open:

Jesus also said that he knows their work and what they are doing. These were not lazy Christians; they were busy doing the work of God. You will also note that this was not trouble free. They went through difficult things and times that sapped their strength and challenged the core of their faith. But they did not deny or denounce Jesus's name. They continued to believe in him and stood their ground.

Jesus, Who is the Holy One and the True One, has called us to holiness and to hold fast to him who is the Truth. He knows and is fully aware of our struggles and the challenges we face as Christians both internally and externally, spiritually and physically. This is why he gave us his word of patience and endurance. Patience, because it will take a while to walk through the door he has already opened for us and endurance, because that walk is not trouble free. Jesus said he has the key of David. When I wondered what that meant, I remembered God referring to David as the man after His heart. I remembered also how David's walk with God was not trouble free either. I have never known a king who has had so much trouble in his life like King David. Yet what was his response?

He drew closer to God. He trusted in God; he longed and yearned for His presence; he knew the God he served and saw God's deliverance and faithfulness come through for him time and time again. When he sinned, he didn't give up; he repented and returned to God. When the answers to King David's prayers did not come straight away, he hung in there, worshiped God continually, and encouraged himself in the Lord knowing the what God says, He does. David knew that God is faithful to those who put their trust in Him. God saw King David's heart and attitude to Him and loved him greatly and still does. Through patience and endurance David, the little shepherd boy, who was anointed King of Israel as a child, was eventually crowned King of Israel in the place of King Saul who had tried several times to take his life. David held fast to God's word and was victorious.

The Lord also reminded me of Ephesians chapter 6, where we are asked to put on the whole amour of God. Here it is:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV

If we hold fast to our faith in God's word, Jesus has promised that he will keep us safe from the trouble that is coming on the whole world to test the world. Jesus said he will come quickly and we must 'hold fast what we have, so that no one may rob us and deprive us of our crown. He who overcomes (is victorious), I (Jesus) will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God; he shall never be put out of it or go out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which descends from My God out of heaven, and My own new name.'

This is a call to all children of God to have patient endurance.

May the Lord give us the grace to be faithful to him just as King David was, so much that acquired him the name 'a man after God's heart'

He Grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Hold fast.

Shalom
